Description
Thanks to its unique characteristics, Ripasso of Valpolicella is one of the most known italian wines. Traditional wine made through the “ripasso” of a young Valpolicella wine on the skins of Amarone.
The cherry and mixed berries notes are enhanced by spicy notes and soft tannins, giving a smooth sensation.
It matches perfectly with game dishes, grilled meat and seasoned cheese.
Serve at 14°C.

Vintage 2016 Bright garnet. Rich, smoky nose with dried herbs and fruitiness. Fresh, smooth, ample presence on the palate with clean aromas following through from the nose. Structured, warm finish. A good, traditional Ripasso that needs a few years bottle time.

Valpolicella Ripasso "San Giacomo" 2016 ‘Ripe red and black cherry fruits, some oak cinnamon spice, soft and creamy texture with more cherry and some heavier, dark notes that wash away on the finish,’ said team leader Tom Forrest. ‘Superb fruit, simple but elegant,’ concluded Rémi Cousin of Le Gavroche.

A gold directly from France is such a satisfaction! 88/100 points to our Valpolicella Ripasso "San Giacomo" 2015 Intense garnet. Rich nose of ripe, candied cherry and plum wih a floral dimension, brandy and a herbal touch. A soft attack leads into a robust, fleshy, profound palate that has yet to become articulate. Civilised herbal finish. A successful, modern Ripasso.
